‘The Fika Effect’ came about through my love for horses and keen interest in social media, content creation specifically. I have always noticed the quiet, beautiful parts of equestrian and I aim to thoughtfully capture those moments with my camera as they are in my head.

For those of you who don’t know me … I’m Abbey! I am 18 years old and have just finished my final year of high school - ATAR and CERT III in Business in tow. For 2024 and beyond I will be based across Toowoomba and Brisbane whilst competing a dual degree in Business and Fine Arts at QUT.

For those of you who knew me before ‘The Fika Effect’ came to life, your probably more familiar with the sight of me perched atop my own horse rather than on the ground with a camera in my hands!

As a rider myself, I understand horses and riders as a partnership through experience and have a unique feel with the motion and behaviours of horses within our sport.
